the worse thing about boxing is the early stages of training, when your hitting the bag and you start to feel good like your punches could knocked anybody out then you try it in the ring and get clocked with a good shot and get discouraged.

its hard to keep your composure, really hard.

damn, if this aint the truth I dont know what is. and also everything versatile has said. the coach at my gym told me after my 2nd spar that my first one was alot better cuz I calm out confident and ****y as hell but after getting molly whopped one good time I was like fudge this and got on the defensive side. IM short so I guess thats the reason he tells me my offense is my best defense.

“Everybody's got plans...until they get hit.”
It sucks when you find out how true that is.

I agree an the average person who's never boxed knows **** about boxing. and they make comments like "body shots are useless" and "why is that guy throwing weak ass jabs"

I remember getting tagged for the first time and it totally threw me off! You quickly realise that ain't no everlast bag with a headguard on! It's someone trying to hit you back! Ever since I started sparring my approach to bag work has completely changed! I keep my guard tight all the time imagining an opponent and not just a bag swinging in front of me! Just one of the many lessons I've learnt in the sweet science!

ya i have a perfect example! the other day i was talking to a kid i used to go to middle school with and he said that sugar shane mosley is over with and needs to retire. I just noded my head and went along with it so i wouldnt just straight up tell him hes a idiot and doesnt know **** about boxing.

Boxing is cool, but that **** is easy. I use to box and I would whoop everyones ass. I'd turn pro but I wanted to do something professionally that was difficult and took a lot of skill.

....and this is what I do now, for example.
