    question about weight

    why all boxers want to fall their weight down, all my friends want to be big, massive so we think you can hit harder with alot of weight...

    Because effective punching is about more than brute strength...Most of the power in a punch comes from good technique.

      Yea you proberbly do hit harder if you pile on muscle... its only natural i guess.

      But being at a higher weight means you must also take on harder punchers from your opponent. Plus... if you pile on the muscle then your likely to become slower also.

      Fight at whats natural to you. In your natural weight division. If your skinny, lean.. fight at that weight. Only go up in weight your finding it terribly difficult to keep at that weight and keep a nutritious and healthy diet.

      Thats my advice anyway.

          lol im 226 lb fighter and there's noone in my club that has almost same weight, the highest weight without me is 198 lb but i beat all in my club, i have very strong right hand, also i need a big work with my left hand...

            If you're a HW you don't need to worry about weight as much...Train hard, eat right, and let your weight fall where it may.

                Oh man that all depends on the fighter...They all have their own uses but it really comes down to the individual fighter and their style and what they are best at.

                  depends what angle, where u r in the ring, where ur opponent is, what openings u have, etc. all the punches are powerful if used right
