  • Got Hot Weather Training Tips?

Weather dudes say it is supposed to hit 97 degrees in Seattle tomorrow.

for those of you who are not native to this area, that's pretty damn hot. 85F is considered uncomfortably warm. Seattle-ites walk around in short sleeves down to 50F, and we bust out the shorts and Tevas above 65F. It's in the 40's for about 6 months out of the year, here; you just get used to it.

    95+ degrees is insane.

How do you warm weather dudes do it? I'm going to the gym tomorrow anyway -- it's my regular training day and I refuse to break my schedule.

    Tips appreciated.

i usualy go for my runs earlier before it gets hot or at night when its cools down. Drink lots of water, since its really hot you tend to become dehydrated which makes you lethargic and you end up being all slugish and not really feeling like training. If you cant go for a run in the morning and your forced to train in the afternoon. Go to the lake and go for a good swim if your comfortable in open water. Drink lots of water. Also for some reason fruit before training as of late has been awesome before training as its WATER and SUGAR

Its 85 degrees but it feels like 89 and the humidity is 65% and I just ran 45min ago at 8 o'clock. It takes some balls to run int that kind of heat. It makes you tired quicker.

I like to run late at night...it's nice and cool, no one's really around. It's relaxing. Other than that you just gotta try and stay hydrated and suck it up for the most part.

football we have running sessions in the hottest part of yr, at the hottest part of the day. plus the field is rubber so the heat just rises off it and adds at least 5-10 degrees.

I throw up like every day.

starts the 16th, I been tryna stay in shape because my asthma's pretty bad in extreme weather
