i drink in moderation and have no trouble maintaining weight or training habits, you may want to make it a crown and diet though, sugar is the devil much moreso than the calories or alocohol

just avoid the sugar youl be fine, a drink a day is a lot better than to get hammered twice a month

          1) Alcohol reduces male testosterone

          2) Drinking Alcohol after any previous workout(s) will put your entire workout to waste, your body will then focus to remove the poison out of your body, instead of repairing your muscle tissue that you just tore

While all my friends are out getting hammered, I'm staying home and working out, they wont achieve anything special, but I will

I have a glass of wine or a knock of Scotch pretty much every day after I get off work; I have for years. (I don't know what it is that has made me choose careers that mandate a hot shower and a belt of whiskey when I get home every night. Glutton for punishment, I guess. But then, that would explain boxing.)

Recent medical thinking is that it's actually good for your blood pressure and your heart -- at least, at my age. I haven't been falling-down drunk in over ten years, though, and I rarely drink more than 3-4 drinks even on a "big" night -- which happens maybe every other month.

It depends how serious you are, I guess. Me, I'm a recreational boxer. If I was in the pros or even going to GG or Ringside (which I may in a year or two, now that they have a Master Division), I'd lay off the sauce; I would probably hit it the way I smoke now -- I have a cigar on New Year's Eve every year, and every few years I'll have one on a special occasion.

Most people can't limit themselves to one drink per day. It's an ugly truth. I firmly believe that no single vice in moderation is that bad for you.

I tend to enjoy a Miller Lite or Bud Lite on occassion; but not very often. I'll also order a glass or two of red wine if I'm at nice restaraunt but thats all----in my opinion alcohol is ok in moderation.

I am sure gettting bombed is VERY detrimental to your performance. I am trying to cut booze out. If you have a drink a day I am firm believer that it will NOT affect performance; any more than that you are behind the 8 ball.
