They show up to your gym, they go to your school, they prowl the forums......Rich Kids.
Im the average 16 year old Australian, I go to school and I go to work but im an orphan and I live with my Grandparents so money is a little harder to come by.
I guess the point of this thread is to express my anger at those people, you know the ones, that show up to your gym once every couple of weeks and dont seem to get any better but they're still able to sport the ' latest advancement in boxing technology" like the "SPEED TECH PRO 14145 SUPER BAG GLOVES" or the "UBER AIR GLIDE ULTRA-non-SLIP PIVOT PREMIUM BOXING SHOES".
While these kids may have $300 worth of gear, they still cower when a dedicated every-man like me flicks his $50 basic sparring glove into thier face. They cant seem to catch up with my cheap worn out sneakers either.
I see alot of these rich kids on this forum too, always talking about ridiculously expensive gear they just ordered, and yet, the vids of themselves that litter the forum are of raw beginners.
All you need to start boxing is a gym (most will supply gear) and maybe a heavy bag and some gloves at home. The only thing that will make you a better boxer is hard work and dedication, if you think $200 headgear is a substitute for a good defense your sadly mistaken.
While these kids with "All the gear and no idea" come and go maybe at your point in training you might benefit from boxing shoes, you might need that super-fast skipping rope. You have invested so many hours in training already so why not treat yourself to some new gear to make the coming hours that much more enjoyable.
