Just curious what pills and extra enhancements you take before you workout or after. I'm not a druggy or overdose type of guy. I'm not the kind that would keep taking them if I don't see results fast. So assume I take full responsiblity for how I workout and use the drugs/pills, which do you recommend to help your daily workout routine? Which have you seen give you the most benefits? Just curious to know as I workout nearly every day of the week but I can't seem to gain muscle. Maybe my body just doesn't have it in it to grow muscle, unless I'm lacking a certain vitamin. Any help?

Lots of factors are included in muscle building first and foremost your diet are u eating enough calories that includes the micronutrient break down that a boxer needs which is about 40% Carbohydrates, these calories should be consumed in complex carbs (ie oatmeal or Whole grain bread) before and leading up to a workout and simple carbs (ie Gatorade or sugary fruits like raisins or Banannas) should be consumed directly after a workout to replenish you muscles. Next is 40% protein, your daily intake should be evenly spread through the day but higher concentrations upon waking up or after your morning run and after your workouts. Last and final the most overlooked calorie there is that is the lipid (fat) calorie, the most common diet myth is that fat makes you fat but when fat is consumed properly it is quite the opposite.Having a few healthy fat (ie nuts, peanut butter, and all unhydrogenated oils) servings throughout the day increases your BMR (Base metobolic rate) dramatically. Your BMR is the rate at which your body naturally burns calories at a stand still condition, Your BMR for someone that does not diet or exercise is mostly based on genetics but with diet and exercise you can change some of those factors in your favour. And as an added favour in men healthy fat intake cause an increase in Serum Testosterone in which burns fat itself and is a natural steriod that your body creates to build muscle.Last edited by floydfan; 07-01-2007, 02:56 PM.

(Continued)
Next is exercise regimen and rest.Without weight training or some kind or strain on the muscle causing breakdown dont ever except new muscle to regrow, some people in boxing think weight training isent necessary and it only slows you down but for one example,I use roy jones jr. he weight trained in every camp to prepare for every fight in every weight class and look at the speed that he posessed in the ring.Next is rest I find that optimal performance with my body I have to sleep atleast 9 hours of uninterupted sleep. This relies on many factors as I have a very physically straining job in construction. You may need more or less sleep depending on factors like activity outside of boxing, age and overall body needs. I hope my posts help I find with an awesome diet and a perfect training routine with adequete rest even the most genetically handicapped people can gain lean muscle. My point being that being in awesome shape and condition doesnt come from the newest fad supplement or steroid but from time and sticking to a routine that works for your body.

Mmm thanks for advice. What about if I'm not training to have a boxer physique no more or boxer beneficial physique? Just to get big period. I eat huge portions that blow people's minds and I don't do it to show off. I have a big appetite and eat like the average fatty person would. Yet I put on no weight. What gives? I workout with lifting and if I am gaining some muscle, it's not showing over the fat, nor am I getting bigger. I just stay the same and it's REALLY annoying.
Oh ya my stats are:
5'11, 160-165lbs (haven't weighed myself in some time though don't notice any difference since the last weigh-in which was 163lbs). So you can imagine I'm pretty skinny and it's really annoying when I eat and eat and nothing, nor do I benefit from all the lifting I do.

why do you want to take supplements to get bigger, musclebound is not the way to go for a boxer, I myself have too much muscle, and I wish I didnt

Train in compound exercises. Dont just do bicep curls and shrugs and call it a night. Do Bench press, Squats, Olympic Lifts, etc. And you will see results.
