  • Everlast vs Grant Gloves

So I have been boxing for a year now, pretty much non stop four too five times a week. I have gone through two pairs of training gloves already. The first pair was your typical Everlast Hook and loop (like 30 bux) 12 oz. then I tore from the inside out and I decided to spend a bit more money and got these:

I got the 14 oz. But these only last a few months as well, and besides getting tore up inside I also got a hole on my left thumb. (jab hand).

So now I decided to try Grant and bought these:

I tried em out for the first time yesterday but from the beginning i noticed that these were a bit heavier. The Grant 14oz weigh more than my sparring 16oz or my everlast 14oz. They seem much heavier but at the same time the feel much better, your hand is forced into a fist and I felt no disconfort if i accidently hit with a wrong angle.

So I haven't busted out with the scale yet but the Grant 14oz seem heavier then anything I have ever put on, and thats when they are dry can't imagine what they will be like after an intense work out. I guess I am gonna have to get used to it, just thought it was really strange that they are heavier than everlast 14 or even 16 for that matter.

Good review, I have never tried the Grant Campeon line of gloves, the only Grant gloves I own are the pro 10oz fight gloves for bag mitts etc/ and the Grant 16 oz pro training for bag/mitts/spar ---both lace ups and they are great albeit expensive. I might get the Grant Pro Super Bag glove 12oz in the future.

I also have the Everlast Professional Hook and Loop trainer and love it, easy to take on/off and extremely comfortable---ultimately i believe it comes down to brand preference.

You cant go wrong with either imho.

It seems as if Grant makes some good gloves, and on top of that, they are also some of the most esthetically pleasing gloves that I've seen.

Anyone have any other gloves that are just plain good to look at, but are quite effective as well?

Like the above poster said ive never tried the campeon training gloves but the pro training are awesome, good all around comfort and support as well they seem to be a very high quaility glove for a decent price I only paid 130 can. and on the site there posted as 124.99 american. And come on winky wright and bernard hopkins cant be wrong by choosing theses gloves.

PS Has anyone tried the Winning training gloves I have some extra cash to blow and would to buy some
