Basic stuff, get your front foot on the outside of his when you punch. Starting with a right hand to the body, and coming up with the left, hook or straight depending on range, is usually a good way to attack.

      Create "fake" distance between you.
If you place your front foot further forward then you normally would, and put your weight on the backfoot, you will create distance by just moving your upperbody backwards. When he misses a punch, just lean forward and you will be close enough to connect, even if he's taller...
Works for me against bigger guys.

Do you usually fight opponents who are bigger than you? If so, then you need to learn how to fight small. Presumably you have not yet learned how to fight small otherwise you wouldn't be asking that question. 50 years ago there were two great small heavyweights, Floyd Patterson and Eddie Machen. They both fought small, but did it a different way. It is up to you to figure out how you want to do it.
