  • Wristguards?

    Hello,

New to boxing, and on my 3rd week of training at the gym my wrists are killing me. I lose my adrenaline and doing anything strains the wrist and it sucks hard.

The gym manager told me about wrist guards, and some at places such as Walgreens even work well, to help keep the wrist balanced or something.

    Any comments on this?

    Thanks,
    Steven

    Hi Big $teve,

    Welcome to this Forum

I am assuming you are using hand wraps?

Sounds like your not giving yourself enough wrist support. Try wrapping a few more layers around your wrists for extra strength and protection.

I used them when I ****ed up my wrist from the heavybag. It works very well, but in order for it to work extremely good and you not feel the pressure of the wrist. You would have to wrap it tight, therefore cutting off circulation.

i used them too and they do help. eventually ur wrists will get stronger so dont worry. i also recommend doin wrist curls and reverse wrist curls to strengthen ur forearms and ur wrists. good luck hope the pain goes away.

          Hey Guys,

Thanks for welcome. Im going to keep working on wrist curls.

Any opinion on either of these? http://www.academy.com/index.php?pag...428-01234-3020

Possibly the first one more geared towards wrists. If I were to get that, do I still use normal wraps?

          Thanks,
          Steven
