  • Trynna get my dad back in shape..

    my dad is waaaaay out of shape..hes 41, hes 5'6, weighs 180-190 pounds,mostly fat,smokes hella much and just eats un healthy..i wanted to help him get back in shape so if possible can increase his life and make it better for him..i heard a story of a guy similar to mine, he wanted to get in shape so he went running for a couple of miles, but the same day, he died froma heart attack..soo how should i start off my dad n try to get him back in it??what exercises should he do for a start and what should he start eating??

    It should be him posting this instead of you,its hard to make someone lose weight if there not willing yet.

      Yeah i agree i'm trying to do the same with my mum but she complains alot when working out.

        if he is in that bad of shape just start out small short jogs and some simple exersises like crunches and stuff and start by just cutting out crap from diet like sweets alcohol etc

          get him swimming or cycling? He might hurt himself if you get him running with all that weight as his age, especially his lower back adn legs.

            Start off slow, at that age you can't really be sure of possible problems within the body.i.e (bad heart,weak bones, bad joints) And he smokes!!?? that's gotta go before anything man..You gotta start slow. Walk a mile or two each night, get him to pick up some dumbbells to do some light lifting.Basicly get him to do ANYTHING, as long as it's not too strenuous

              man is your dad filipino? filipinos and blacks are very similar diet wise and they have the same kinda health problems its that greasy food man.

              i started eating healthy 3 years ago and working out i feel better.

              if you on the westcoast just go to traders joes and buy organic foods,fruits and vegatables and avoid that greasy adobo chicken...i know cause i date some filipina girl and man the food is good especially the deep fried baby chickens damn **** is crispy.
              but they bad for your health.

              main things to look for...low soduim, low fat, no cholesterol, no transfat.

                I dnt know much about getting people to lose weight but thing is you should go 2 a doc and make sure its ok. Then start lightly with jogs and stuff, dnt go too hard at first. Once he looses a good amount of weight you can make the workouts more intense. I dnt noe much but i think thats ok advice

                  iight ill tel him to doo all of that but i forgot to mention he has ammonia or however the hell u spell that..but fa sho ima make him start walkin in a mile or soo..thanks everyone

                    u mean pneumonia? if he's got that he shouldnt work out at all until its gone, cuz if ur older and have pneumonia and have excess stress on your nervous system, could be some BAD ****
