lay down. have someone fold a towel up til it's about 4 inches, then stretch it out tight and have em hold the towel, putting it on your head with you facing up.

Try bridging. There are two ways fron and back. For front get on your toes and put the top of your head on the ground and roll it around. Go ear to ear, nose to neck. Or do back bridging which is have your heels on the ground and the back of your head on the ground and roll with it. It builds a lot of neck strength. Be careful though do it slowly if not you could really hurt yourself.

do not do bridges. In time you will find a sometimes severe pain right at the base of your neck. It will never go away.

Laydown/curb on a table with your head hanging off of the end. Keep your head straight out for a spell and then begin touching your chin to your chest and then returning your head slightly past horizontal. Bring your chin to your chest again and repeat. Then after about 3 minutes of that hold your head straight out and rotate to the rightand rotate it back to middle and stop. Rotate it left return and sto. Do this for another min and 1/2 and youll be good................Rockin'

I have done neck bridging every other day for the last two years (for wrestling) and I have never had any pain. My coaches have done them every day for twenty years and have never had pain. You are probably doing them wrong. They are an excellent strength builder. You just have to be careful with how you do them.

You need to work up to bridges. Do not attempt a full bridge immediately.

Barbell shrugs will work your traps, which will build some neck size. So will pushups with your hands over your head. I hate to refer people to this site (just for the crap I get for mentioning it) , but check out http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/exercises.htm . There is a search function by bodypart for spot training.

EDIT: I fixed the link so as to go right to the spot-training page.
