never been much of a weightlifter (not at all actually) but with changin times i realized its beneficial for a fighter to lift weights regardless of all the myths. my question is this, if i'm trying to get down in weight, should i be doin like 18-20 reps per set for like tone and **** or should i do like 2-5 reps per sets for strength, i dono cuz low reps i think would bulk u up, i know most say they wont cuz they are for strength and power only, but a 160 pound power lifter who's very ripped looks WAY bigger and is way more stiff and tighter than a 160 pound fighter with the same percent body fat, and all they do is lift with light reps and heavy weight, so i dono the best protocol if a fighter is comin down in weight how should he lift to maximize the weight loss but not get too tight in the process, or should you not lift untik u r down to ur desired weight, ya feel? thanks for any info this whole weightlifting business confuses the **** out of me maybe i should jus stick to bodyweight exercises i dono.....

I do strength training (low rep high weight) and I'm losing some weight. That would be my suggestion. Past that for boxing don't do too much or you can sacrifice some speed. That's not a myth. I think it is not the reps but watch the exercises. That's what you have to watch out for. The exercise choices are very important.
