How bad is caffeine for you? I'm not talking about drinking coffee or pop. I have some caffeine pills that I take sometimes(I try not to rely on them too heavily but when I'm working a lot or something I'll take one or two). In a few weeks I'll start working 3rd shift(10 PM-6 AM) sometimes, and I'll probably be needing these pills a little more than usual. Is it bad to take these pills, or is it relatively harmless? 1 pill contains as much caffeine as a single cup of coffee. I usually take 1, sometimes 2(but never more than 2) at a time.

Will this mess my body up at all?

they are not harmfull, unless you stay on them for like 6 weeks straight or more... you body will adapt to that much caffine and will need it everyday... so i say do like any other supplment like creatine or anyhting and that is like 6 weeks on , 4 weeks off.....

Well I definitely won't be using them for 6 weeks straight...And I won't be taking them often enough to get addicted.

Depending on you, caffeine withdrawl can really be a *****. Part of the withdrawl is extra vasodilation, especially in the head (vasodilation- blood vessels get bigger), so that's bad news for a boxer, more headaches, and more bleeding. I'd stay away from the pills if I were you, but they're not gonna really kill you or anything, the ones you're talking about don't seem too potent. How many mg in each pill?

Caffiene restricts bloodflow, and its bad for your body in heart..

I dont even drink soda that has Caffiene in it, but you, you can do whatever the hell you want, its your body..

It restricts bloodflow (in some areas) while present, and then promote it during withdrawl. A coke every now and then isn't killer.

My ex-flatmate used to work really late at a nightclub and then go to college early in the morning - to keep her awake she used to excessivly take "pro-plus" tablets (don't know if the brand is familiar in America - scab will know what i mean) but there caffiene tablets to keep you awake. She used to go mad on them - and used to hammer Red Bull and other energy drinks as well as drinking alot of tea.

Right now, she needs a kidney transplant and is on dialisys most days - the amount of ****e she was taking to stay awake had really damaged her body. She's in pain most days too. I feel quite sorry for her.

Course this is rare- but to be honest, i stay the hell away from that kinda stuff since seeing her damage herself.

But... i'm sure she was taking more of an intake of caffiene that drinking several cups of coffee a day.

400mg in your system and you start to do some damage usually, obviously depending on weight, tolerance and a great many other things.
