Anyone else cutting weight SLOWLY and come across a certain point in time when all you think about is food? How do you deal with it? I wonder if it is your physical body asking for more nutrients fats etc...(evolution) Or your mind needing the claming effects of eating. Anyone??

i'm dietting to make weight. been on a diet now for 2 month.

i don't crave nothing, but being down the pub when everyone is drinking and im on coke is horrible.

i think its mostly mental - like you said. They body desires things, and when eating is your routine - the body will want to take part in that routine still also.

edit: When i'm at work - its easy - cos i dont have the time to think about eating - at the weekend its different and much harder!

If you crave chocolate really bad - go and brush your teeth. The taste of the toothpaste will put you off.

not really true... i've been eating well for awhile... lost about 35 lbs over the last year, but i still have the urge to destroy a pizza or something every now and then. especially since my girlfriend always has candy and chips and stuff all over... what really kills me is i don't think she could gain weight if she wanted to but if i even look at that stuff i'm up 5 lbs the next day.

foods that are very high in fiber will make you feel fuller faster...

ive been dieting 7 solid months and food cravings are hard to ignore for any extended period of time...

one of my secrets is lentils.. i boil half a package of them along with a carrot and a stalk of celery... lentils have approx 14g of fiber in a single serving compared to 4-5g in whole wheat pasta... plus only a couple of useless carbs instead of 30-40 of them.. one bowl of this leaves me feeling pretty full and satisfied though its really not much food...

the best thing to do though is to look for healthier alternatives to the things you really like to eat.... for instance i make myself chili with ground turkey and chicken instead of beef... and use northern beans they are high in fiber just like lentils.... use as little tomato sauce as possible as it usually fairly high in sugar... ill usually add some hot salsa cause its low in sugar but adds the tomato taste.

i also eat buffalo meat instead of beef.... 4oz of buffalo sirloin has only 1g of fat compared to 14g in regular beef...crazy but true.. i think the taste difference in negligible

i also drink unsweetened soy milk... very healthy.. 4g fiber 1 g sugar compared to regular milk that has 0g fiber and 13g sugar

Good advice on the high fiber^^^

I never had big weight issues, but around february, I had to go down from 74 to 69kg, so I had to watch my diet a little carefully. Also, my trainer would have the kinda mock 'weigh-ins' to get used to being able to come in a certain weight on a given day.

Anyways, haha, honestly, I'd play video games or something like that when I was hungry, distracts you, and you're kinda doin' somethin' so it's not like watchin' a movie. Also I find bein' around friends just makes you eat more... or something.

In the end, it's all mental, and just a test of willpower, like almost everything else in this sport.
