  • general gloves questions....

i just usually use whatever gloves they have around at my gym which is fine with me cause i dont need any fancy ****.... but i like to get everything for cheap as possible so i want to get my research done here..

my trainer says ill fight in 12 oz gloves.... so should i train with 12 oz gloves consistently or should i wear heavier ones 14-16, so the 12's seem like feathers when it comes fight time?

also, what kind of requirements (if any) are there on the 12 oz gloves i would be fighting in.. do they have to lace up etc etc etc???

i found a nice pair of training grants for 30 bucks shipped that weigh 14, but the guy doesent have any 12's.... i think thats a damn good deal and id rather have some nice 14's than pice of crap 12's

i guess im also not clear on the separation between "training" and actual "fighting" gloves..

    any and all info appreciated!

I personally think when you spar or train you should do so with heavyer gloves as it will build up shoulder endurance, make you a little faster when switching to the lighter gloves and it's abit nicer toyou sparing partner as getting hit with padded gloves will hurt less. About your quistion with the grant gloves i would get the 14 once gloves as they are cheap for grant and they would be beter to train in.

Get a heavier glove pal. it will protect your hands more in the long run.

You dont need to buy competition gloves... they provide those at the match

Nice gloves and there dirt cheap. I wish i could get grant gloves but in england getting them imported cost a bomb so i cant, there meant to be great gloves though.
