Getting bored while running?

One day run hard, one day run easy. On the hard day alternate hill work, sprints, and a long tough run. Take at least one day off per week from running. Always running on a soft surface, like grass or dirt, rather than asphalt or cement. Try to run where you don't have to worry about getting run over or killed, so it is pleasant. Run comfortably if possible, e.g not out in the blazing sun or freezing night time. Always stretch a least a little before and after. Warm up and cool off by jogging a bit on the hard days. Either run early and train boxing late, or run after the workout, since running uses so much energy, it will be difficult to train hard. Eat after you run. Don't try to do too much too soon. No more than 10% increase in mileage per week. Run distance according to your personal makeup. Some people only average 3 - 5 miles a day, and that's enough. Others will do 10 miles per day. There isn't a strict right or wrong. Use good form when running, swing the arms, lift the knees, breathe naturally. If in doubt, get a running coach to give you some ideas. Most boxing trainers know nothing about running for conditioning.

I usually listen to music and think about the competition internationally. While you're taking a break or getting bored, someone else is getting stronger and faster than you by not taking a break and running harder(Yea kinda' cliche I know)

I agree with punchdrunk. You're obviously not running hard enough. Say you go on a 30 minute run. Think about every new bit. Like for example, after about 5 minutes you get to the bushtrakc. Concentrate on just getting to the bushtrack. Then the next 5 minutes youll pass the bsut stop. Concentrate on getting to bus stop etc. It works for me
