    Your Corner, during a tourny

I already know what my trainer is going to tell me... it seems like its the same thing everytime wether im sparring or what have you

"Get in there, and do what you do.. give them angels you like to do, you know... and use your speed"

    round ends...

"good, good... keep doing what your doing... work that jab a lil more, and keep that chin tucked, dont raise up... and u know.. do what you do"

Lol... Iono man, with everyone else they give like more detailed instructions on what to do, but not so with me... I mean they give me advice from time to time... but 9/10 I already know im going to hear "do what you do"

I have a match coming up in july, and I dont want to hear "do what you do"... I want someone that will analize what the opponant is doing and then tell me what I need to do to expose what he is doing wrong in there

ex.) "aigh this guy likes to drop his left after he jabs, so do a pull counter, then a straight to the body"

or something like that.. you know? and yeah I know how to adjust to my opponent in the ring, but I still want to hear it from my corner

    so what should I do?

I guess you should ask the questions to which you want the answers... i don't know what your trainer is like though, and what your relationship is like with him.

Ask him like.."what things is he doing, that i'm not picking up" or something like that.

My trainer just told me what to do, and told me where i was going wrong, encouraged me too.

Have you told him about what you think? I'm sure he wouldn't be insulted if you explain what you need. He might even appreciate it.

Is he like this with the otehr fighters in your gym? Maybe he feels like he can't approach you or prompt you to do something different for some reason?

I guess Ill jus tell them to study to opponent and then tell me what to do

I guess its because they're strong believers in "as long as you perform and do what you're suppose to do... it dont matter what the other guy is doing" so they jus focus on what you.. instead of what the opponent is doing

He cant train you to fight in a corner or even to really know how to see the fight. It all should have already been accomplished in the gym. All that they can do in a corner for you is tell you what they are seeing and what adjustments that youll need to make.

Honestly, I hardly remembered most of what was said to me in the corners, so many things rolling through my mind. I would always pick up on one or two suggestions and then try to execute them the next round.

Learn to fight and take instruction in the gym and then take instruction and fight at the fights. Its that simple.................Rockin'
