    Anyone have SHIN SPLINTS?

    man my shins are killing me just did jump rope for the first time in ages yesterday and my shins are painful...

    I never do running i mainly do shadow boxing for 30 minutes every day and lie on my back and do bicycles for 15 minutes every morning and night before i got to bed.

    yeah i get em real bad. You have to run for a few weeks and work past em and than slowly they get better. MY exerience anyways..

      o yea man i used to get them everytime i jumped rope or ran but I went to the foot doctor and got a custom shoe insert for 300 dollars and ever since then ive never got them! I am very flat footed too.

        I would watch out with the "custom shoe inserts" though because I had a foot problem and got those and they made the problem worse. If you do decide to go that way ask the doctor a lot of questions about wearing them properly like how long and when.

          they say you just gotta get a lighter shoe that fits proper and dont tie your shoes to tight thats what i read.

          they said that nike free trainers are good.

          i was using payless shoes.

            What the heck are shin splints??? A lot of track people at my school complain about having shin splints.

              its when your bone in your front the shin area feels like its gonna snap its painful the muscles are sore as hell and when you start running your your shins go to failure real fast and it feels like your legs are gonna blow and its painful, its like they swell up.

                    Ye, I used to get killer ones back in my X-Country days. Boxing doesn't really kill my shins though. In fact in boxing, you're more likely to get shin splints, but in your forearms. And trust me, that's when it's time to lay back for a bit, lest you tear the inside of your arm in half like me...
