  • Bad day of training....

Well yesterday, was a regular day at boxing. I was not really feeling good and it was hot as hell though. I did not feel like sparring, but my coach decided that i was going to. I did a few workouts before I sparred, and i could hardly get 5 rounds of jump roping done. First I went up against this girl, thats was bleh, did not care much, coach wanted me to hit more, I really did not want to hit her.

Next up was a guy who had not sparred before. He also started way after me. He was really cut and built though. I just moved around a bit, and jabbed him. After that he comes at me all wild, hitting me on the inside, mostly on the back of my head. It was like a street fight, not a sparring match. Evey time this happened I did not know what to do. I would wait for my coach to break it up, or I would just move out of it. I also would get off balance, and just feel like I am about to fall. Than my coach just stopped it, not even a round.

I felt like ****. I had been working my ass of sine January for this to happen. I was soo damn pissed, I wanted to leave. I thought about it the whole day. Than I got over it, but im still like pissed that I did not do anything. I have all the skills and all, but when I spar its like nothing clicks.

    Suggestions wanted.

The same thing happend with me the other day. I felt like **** and spared and i got the **** kicked out of me it seemed every time i tried to throw a punched i missed and the bloke hit me in return. Just stick with it and eventually you'll improve and believe me it happens to everyone so dont worry. Anyways train hard and keep at it and it'll all come together.

Thanks man, that seriously helps. I was thinking of quitting. but I told myself not to, because I had got so far, and knew I could make it in this sport.

Now I'm not afraid of getting punched, so I'm going to try and spar someone else, and I know I will do much better.

good on you believe me i've read articles on world champions and they said they've been beaten badly in sparing. Anyways its good you aint gonna quit and in no time you'll find ya self beating up these people you sparred.
