  • My weight dilemma

    Aritey guys, here's the story, I'm 19, 6 feet, and now abour 147 pounds. I used to be more muscular (but also much fatter) at around 160 and trimmed it down to 152 (which is LM weightclass). Anways, not too long ago, maybe 2 months now, I got pretty sick, and lost maybe 6 pounds, and now I'm down to 147. So I thought great, maybe I'll try to make 141. But no, can't do it man, not without getting too thin for my own good. So that's out. I've had trouble getting back up to 152 though, I can't seem to get the weight back without getting to bulky-feeling, or fat, if you know what I mean. So I have three options any suggestions about which to go for are appreciated:

    1) Just go down to 141 anyways, regardless of whatever

    2) Stay at 147 (Thus fighting in the 152 weightclass)

    3) Do whatever I can to get to 152

    Any suggestions for getting to 152 while staying nice quick and lean would be appreciated too, as I suppose that's what I would really want to do. For reference, I don't know my body fat % but I can tell you it's pretty low, and I couldn't lose more than a pound or two of fat before being too unhealthy.

    I say stay at 147 my canadian chum - but add a couple of days weight training and possibly some suppliments? Don't TRY and achieve 152, just do some weight training and see what happens.

    Slimming down to 141 would be useless as you said, and you would feel uncomfortable - if i get the jist of what your saying in your post.

    I say, add some weight training and see what happens, but don't set yourself a conscience weight target. (though keep an eye on how much your gaining)

      you can easily reach 152 in about 4 weeks... you can do what they call a clean bulk.... you will get roughly 1 to 2 lbs of muscle a week.... i can tell you how i went from 169 to 185 in a few months on a fairly clean bulk... pm me and i will tell you my work out and what to eat and what not.. if your interested....

        Hmmm.. Tick I'm thinking a lil weight training... with the eating added... shouldn't be too much to gain the weight...


        Umm try lifting...you already know how to eat while lifting ... or ya can use the protein shakes...

        Swim with it to keep your flex and so on I'd say... i just read what these other guys said and they seem on point..

            Haha, now THAT'S the advice I been lookin' for. Well I'm in Germany for the summer so that wouldn't be too hard, but I'm tryin' to not go crazy on the booze here. But that's the thing, I'm 3000 miles away from my home gym, where I'm used to everything, have some weights. I still haven't even found a gym here, and it looks like they're all to expensive for me, which is some bad news. I'm prolly just gonna end up at the one at the university I'm workin' at, it's just a normal weight room, it does have some **** punching bag though... I guess I'll just have to roam the streets after happy hour stirring up trouble, looking for some practice, haha.

              lol.. again with the drinking lol... there goes your 12th round with me Trick.

              (Trainer said I'd be sparring so I'll most likely have some sparring up today or 2mora maybe)

                haha, don't worry, I haven't had one drink since I been here. I'm gonna try to keep the ****shows down to at least once a month while I'm here, drinkin' doesn't do it for me like it used to. I prefer stayin strong and smashing someone in the face, haha.
