notice how the cuban fellow doesn't move much. no need to dance around or move when it is not necessary. you can last a very long time if you box like that.

usually, it is the younger, still green, fighters who will move too much or not enough. once you get comfortable and you know what you're doing, you will settle down and look much like the cuban guy in the clip. i like his level of relaxation.

btw, this advice is not directed at anybody in particular. just an observation i have made throughout the years.

With him keeping his left hand low, many cuban boxers do that, I have recently watched some of the older, soviet era fights between soviet ams and cuban ams and the guy here got a very typical style for cubans, at least from what I have seen.

Exactly. I was standing right behind him with the camera, back against the wall, and he got close when backing up, but never walked into me, or stumbled over my feet or anything. The guy is incredibly smooth.

I'm really into the Cuban style of boxing. There's just something that sets them apart from all others in the AM game, even if the Russians are probably a bit better nowadays.

what about after combos go to the side so you are not in front of the fighter from him to throw punchs at you?

another thing there is a guy at 64 he is Thai and he is very exciting right now it not actually the Russian but mostly the Uzbek and Kazastian as well as Tajistain

I like the guy with the head gears style. Loose and always on his toes.

If you look at the world rankings (http://www.abae.co.uk/rankings/world/Senior/index.asp), you'll see that Russia has 15 fighters ranked, whereas the three countries you mention have 16 combined. I think that says a lot about the strength of the russians.

                    3 Russians ranked nr. 1, 8 (!) Russians ranked nr. 2.
There's only one weight division without a Russian as nr. 1 or 2 (or both).

Cuba has 18 world ranked fighters, 5 nr. 1 rankings.

I think it's fair to say that Cuba and Russia are dominant right now, with a few countries in close pursuit.
