    Running

Ive been running every day for over a week apart from the days i train and im now noticing my legs are getting weaker before my stamina runs down, is there any way i can make my legs last longer apart from running, although i know running is going to help and im going to continue to run. Also should i vary the way i run?? Every day ive been jogging a short distance to a hill sprinting up it and jogging round the block and sprinting back up it. Some days should i just go out for a normal jog?? Thanks

i'm talking about taking a WHOLE day not doing anything related to exercise. just a complete chill day.

chances are, the next day you should be recovered, and better than before.

yeah, dude you have to take at least 2 days off a week.

i would be carefull of running too much. it may sound a bit weird to hear that, but over jogging will make your legs too skinny and will move your center of balance up. you want to have a low center of balance - not a high one.

when i jog or run, i run about 3(4 at most) times a week.

good supplements to running are playing full court basketball, cycling, and playing tennis is especially great to help with short explosive footwork and waist coordination. man, i have to get myself another tennis racket.

running up hill, as you mentioned, is a great exercise. i believe that marciano used to run up hills, and then run down them backwards. you might want to play with that.

ok il do the rest tomorow then as im sparring on Sunday. Thanks
try to get some good stretching in on the days you are taking off.

No problem thanks for that i might get my bike fixed up and go cycling because i cant play tennis or basketball lol. Although my bike is has been sitting outside for years so it might not work anymore but im sure my Dad will be able to fix it lol. Is there any other excercises i can do for stamina apart from skipping and jogging and cycling? Ive noticed a really big increase though even just from hillwork. And drinking lots and lots of water and eating alot healthier than i used to.

of course. there are a million things you can do.

                - try going up and down a fight of stairs 15 times or more.

                - one thing i do is practice my kicks in the air for 3 to 5 minutes continuous getting in as many kicks as i can without sacrificing the quality of the technique. this will kill your hips and legs.

                - shadowboxing. this really goes without saying, right?

                - practice simply holding your arms up in the air in front of you. it is an unusual practice, but you will be able to punch more with less soreness after a while of practicing this exercise. it gets your arms and shoulders(especially) used to the postion that your arms are in around the end of a punch. you will not likely make it past a couple of minutes in this exercise. it is really best to learn this from a martial artist, but if you want to see how a simple exercise like this can kill your arms, give it a try. make sure that you don't move at all. and if you want to challenge yourself even more, hold a half squat while you do it.

                - if you have a medicine ball, hold it out in front of you at chest height or a bit lower than chest height. you should be holding it between your palms. now, release the medicine ball by bringing your arms backwards so that they are almost on line and nearly parallel with your shoulders. immediately snap your arms back to the front so that you catch the ball between your palms as fast as you can so that the ball does not drop more than an inch or so. do this continuosly without breaks as long as you can. this too, will be hard for you to maintain this exercise for more than a couple of minutes if you can even make it to a couple of minutes.

hope these will be helpfull. i'd love to hear feedback on some of these.

When out on say a 30 minute jog, try and include 3 or 4 100 m bursts.

Run these 100m for 15 seconds at about 75% hardness, and then recover in a few seconds and keep running. So basically, you are doing this for explosiveness.

I will leave feeddback on how im getting on with everything whenever ive been doing it for a few days.
