  • Body Fat Percentage...

What is a good body fat percentage for boxing?

We had a health fair at my job and they had a body fat percentage screening... According to a paper they gave me, over 25% was "Disproportionate fat/lean ratio"... 21-25% "Acceptable"... 14-20% "Appropriate for fitness"... 5-13% "Appropriate for athletes"... 2-4% "Neccessary"...

I was at 12%... I want to get to around 7-9%... What's good for boxing?

2% is borderline unhealthy I am at around 10-12 and at around 7-8 you start really seeing rips.

Anything under 5% is bad news for boxing, you need the protection.

I just don't see myself making 165 for the Sunshine State Games...

              Dac,

you're at like 177ish if I remember right? Man, honestly, I'm not sure you can make 165. The weigh in is the day of I'm assuming? It would take some hardcore cardio, and then some intense cutting the day of, and even if you got down to 165 I'm not sure you'd be up to fightin'. What's the next highest weight for you guys?
