  • CHEAT Day on your Diet

Now firstly let me state that a CHEAT day is way different than a REFEED day. A Cheat day or meal you eat what the hell you want. a Refeed day, you purposely eat more than maintenance calories but eat high quality food. The idea of both is to reset your metabolism so that fat loss is easier during the week. Too much time on a calorie deficit diet is not good.

My body can handle a cheat day but i just don't feel good . Makes me feel bloated and icky. Last week i had a cheat day on the Oscar fight day. I ate a lot and felt really ****ty the next day.

So for me it's strictly at most a Refeed day with at most one cheat meal.

What do you do ? Cheat or Refeed ?

I dont know man, I dont really have a diet. I mean, I watch what I eat, try not to eat late at night (even thought I get out of work late and im always hungry as a mother****er) and I try not to eat HUGE meals (lots of small ones).

But pretty much, if I feel like some tacobell one night...i'll eat it. If im going out with the family for someones B day or whatever, i'll eat a lot if its a good place. I normally feel like **** after I eat a lot like that, but I go and burn it off as best I can. Run, box, run, box and it just doesn't stick.

I guess I have fast matabolism though. If I eat a huge meal, i'll probably **** it out later that day lol I also have IBS which causes me to get bad stomache cramps when I eat more than what makes me just full.

whatever I do, it seems to work for me anyway. I stay pretty cut...and if I want to get REALLY cut, it doesn't take me more than a week of watching what I eat (more than I normally do) and some added running to do so. I never thought having a stomache condition could help me in life, but it really has. I've learned to really control HOW MUCH I eat to prevent stomache aches and I think that is what helps me stay cut. WHAT I eat really just depends. If im around the house, I try to eat low fat...but I have some fast food 2 or 3 times a week at night (but I try to get chicken type stuff). I really only drink water and milk too. Not a big soda guy cept for sometimes at night with my fast food.

If it was me in that cake an ice cream cake thread, man, I'd just eat the damn cake. I don't like cake, but if I did, i'd eat it...i'd just run a few miles after and everything will be cool.

I believe it was Matt Hughes (sorry to get UFC on you) that said, your body is just a furnace. You feed it fuel, then you burn it off. You can eat whatever you want (sensibly of course) as long as you get that furnace hot enough the next day.

I should also add that im a mechanic so my job probably helps keep fat off.

I'm currently trying to lose a lot of weight to get really in shape for after the summer time to start competing again. A couple of years of abuse have lead to me piling on the pounds. Namely - takeaway junk food and alot of beer. Got to lose about 2.5 stone. I've already dropped one stone already and i've been dieting and training hard for 3 weeks. Things are going good, but i'm very strict on my diet.

on my off day, i have a couple of bottles of beer to be honest. Especially if i go to watch my football team. I have an off diet day once a fortnight and i might have a grilled steak or some chinese food. But i only reward myself if i've completly kept to my diet and training regime.

There are 14 lbs to a Stone.

I always have a cheat/rest day on either a Friday or Saturday.

During the week I follow a low fat, low calorie based diet. I stick to 2200 cals a day (I'm a big guy) and drink about 6 litres of water.

On my rest day I can use up to 3500 cals which allows me to have pizza and a few beers. Without this life would not be worth living!

I am extremely fit and healthy and being a natural heavyweight I put weight on easily, following this simple but effective routine maintains my weight easily (225lbs) and allows me if needed to drop weight when required by increasing my cardio slightly.
