  • wow a hard labour job is really slow my training down...

    im sore all the time now from work. 10 hour shifts , 5 days a week. its just temporary til i start college .. but thats not for like a year. its really effecting my training, i barely have free time, and when i do, i have to rest , or ill be ****in dead for work. anyone in the same boat ??

    i need to fix this problem lol

    I suppose youll get used to it. But it will really strengthen you up

      Haha, I was gonna do a construction job this summer. I wanted to progress a lot in my training though, so I just said **** it I'm gonna work security. I mostly just stand there and don't have to do much and get paid about the same.

        Punckdrunk,

        The hard work will only help you. Some of the toughest fellows I know are roofers(the hardest job there is).

        Myself, I carry heavy luggage and boxes all day long and I get pretty wiped out, but I feel like I havn't missed much when I get back in the gym(2 times a week only). You'll be alright if it's only for a year or so...

          I used to work in a furniture depot, lifting heavy furniture from 18kg's to 100kg's for 9 hours a day. Combined with this i used to eat the ****ty food in the canteen. I got bigger - in fat from the crap food but also my arms and shoulders grew through the constant work out.

          I did get a bad back though and strains in my right arm. Those things can put you out of training for ages. You just gotta take it easy and lift properly - don't be a hero or trying to impress anybody!

            I know what u mean since I work for a moving company,just gotta get your work out there too.u can get more in shape and impress your boss and co-workers.Ive been doing it for awhile,ppl just dont know how hard it can be to manage both.

                I don't have a tough job, I just watch prisoners, but I work the grave yard shift so I train when I can which isn't as often as I would like but I move soon to a day job so things should get better.

                  I used to work in a dog pound and sometimes I think I should go back just for the workout. We were not suppose to but I used to break up the fights with my barehands, tackle lose dogs that had escaped their cage and would bite. Mainly though, the main thing we did was put dogs to sleep around 60 at a time and we had to pick up their limp deadweight body and throw it into the crematory, lift it into a freezer, or toss it into truck beds. Think about pickin up a dead rottweiler with your bare hands grapping the skin and tossing it about 5 feet into the burner. Plus everyday we had to carry around bags of dog food that were 50 pounds each and I would carry three or four at a time and run around with it. I was a monster back then.
