and i really do mean significant. without doing a couple sets of pushups and stretching, my shadow boxing just looks and feels so damn sluggish. obviously the above actions help out, but i'm just surprised at how much of the difference is. is this something that just varies from person to person? cus i've seen plenty just walk into the gym and hit the mitts or shadow box and they look as sharp as normal. is this something that'll be fine-tuned in time? or is it one of those genetic muscle fiber types of things that you either got or you don't.
i know it's common practice to warmup, stretch, and all that jazz prior to training. call it insecurity but i only ask this because i just keep running scenarios in my head where i'll need to throw a punch just out of the blue and it just won't have the same effect. it's not like if i get hit up by some random prick i'll tell him "hold on a sec, let me do some diamond push ups then i'll fight your ass."
