As crude as it sounds, the best way is with a caliper (at least, one of the best ways).

If you're lucky, your trainer MAY know how to do it... but I doubt it, your doctor may be able to do it as well.

There are also a few things that you can buy that will send a current through your body for example, which are reasonably accurate.

Most scales that claim to do it, suck, but if that is what you're going to use, make sure you stand basically naked, and with no socks.

the truth is NO method of measuring bodyfat % is that accurate

Whatever method you decide to use (calipers, hydro tank, laser device etc), just make sure you keep things consistent and use the differences as feedback

there's also a US Navy calculator for body fat, it asks u a bunch of questions about yuor lifestyle and height and weight, etc. then puts everything into a formula ( the same general formula for everyone ) and spits out a rough number

the scale body fat readers are like off by like under 1.0 so it aint a big deal

yea i got one of those scales where it shows your body fat %. you have to set your age, height, sex, n all that stuff. it also shows other stuff like muscle mass and more
