  • best way to develop a good hook?

    im guessing you will all say the bag? all my hooks are alright apart from left hook to the head...its ****e lol i have trouble doing it

    mitt work and shadow boxing.Also,look at a boxer that throws a good left hook,and see how he does it.Then turn it into your style.Also working your hips side to side can help also.

          you know, chop wood like chop with a ****ing axe.

          find a nice tree not too big, chop it down (not on neighbors property...) very good for power hooks. very, very good exercise for punch training.

          then once the tree is on the ground you chop at the log while it's on the ground, hard. wear gloves. that will hone your uppercut power moreso than your hook power but still, it's important to work the log on the ground, for your lead hook. Cuz just chopping at a tree normally is working your power hook.

                thanks alot,i never knew that,dont think i will be trying that anytime soon though cause theres not many trees round here that i could randomly chop down but i would like too

                  Was it Marciano that was a logger? Damn, can't remember who now, Dempsey? One of the classic fighters who threw freighttrains out of his fists used to be a logger, I know that much...

                    At work,we use sledgehammers to break down crates,I love doin that ****,its a great workout.They always call me to do it,and I'm happy to do it.ahaha.
