thing is with that man, the weight is forcing downwards not the reverse of the way your punching

I do it everynight with 5kg weights 100 1-2's in 2 sets. I punch slightly above my head so I'm pushing up and not down

I think 5kg may be a bit heavy mate

it will make your shoulders stronger from hold the weight up if you do light shadowing boxing with them... Also do uppercuts with them...

not really. I'm quite strong and I don't feel much of a strain. I've done this for a few months now

Uppercuts are the best to do

                helps me.

I also shadow box with 3.3 pound weights. its just an old pair i found in my grandma's closet but after about 100 1-2's and about 100 jabs with uppercuts, it starts to burn. But it is a great workout. And should increase your strength and stamina.

If you have a weight bench or somthing to lay on. Lay on it and punch up!

This works the shoulders and arms and you are also fighting against gravity.
If you puch up laying down you wont have the weight draggin your puch down.
