try and get someone to record ur bout for you aswell so you can watch it and work on any mistakes or bad habbits in the gym.
dnt try and win every spar like most people on ths site go on about cuz u wont learn anythin. keep working on ur weakest points till they improve even if you do look **** in sparring it will all come together eventually.

I was worried about my lad who's 11 yrs old. His first fight involved him leaving his country and flying over to Denmark, copenhagen(Havidovre box cup). I really thought he's going to have a real hard time over there. I or any of the family could not travel with him. To my surprise my lad returned with a gold medal. I asked him was it hard, he replied ''It was easy dad''. I asked him did you feel a little scared while entering the ring, he replied ''only a little''. The most important thing he told me was that he sized the lad up before the fight and he had told himself that he can beat him, and he sure did. I hope this help's you in anyway. Best of luck, peace.

I threw up so much the two days before my first fight that I nearly missed my weight class. At one point I was talking to my brother-in-law, giving him directions to the fight, and had to pull my car over and yack on the sidewalk. Just talking about it made me puke. Hydrate, and remember what PunchDrunk said. The other guy feels the same.
I also had a heavy talk with my pastor the night before the fight. (EDIT: I'm a deacon in the Presbyterian church.) He's cool; he gave me some psychological advice, some Bible verses to study, and a great Christian outlook on the art of beating the $#!+ out of someone. And he came to the fight.
I don't like to proselytize on the web but if you're a Christian, PM me and I'd be happy to share what he told me. It may help.Last edited by fraidycat; 04-21-2007, 08:46 PM.
