  • shoulders and boxing

hey, i started doing some boxing style exercises a few months ago for cardio during the cold season, and for a general change in things.... getting a bit concerned with whats goin on now though..starting to get the idea i dont know what im doing. maybe if anyone knows whats going on, i could get some advice

anyway, i was taking it easy for a while.. shadow boxing for the first month back in october.. then only lightly hitting the bag..
probably in december i started hitting it a bit harder but still not too hard.. no problems still..

by about feb i figured i was conditioned to hit it as hard as i could.. anyway, the next day my ac joint in my left shoulder was sore and swollen.. my right one also felt a bit tender.. so i gave it a week before going at it again.. was able to work out hard.. really nailing the bag without any pain.. but again the next day the soreness was there.. tried once more the next week and results were the same.. always sore ac the next day..moreso in left, maybe due to an old minor injury in that exact area 3 years ago that i did get physio for and it was taken care of 100%.

so b4 i really screwed anything up, i stopped, back in early march. i'd like to get back into it, but i dunno where to start from.. i probably wasnt ready to hit the bag my hardest..
at most, i did the boxing stuff 1-2 times a week with the odd week or 2 i didnt do it, before starting to hit it hard in feb. im already going to physio for some other crap and i'd rather not have to go in to get this checked out and pay more assessment fees and whatever other garbage..

on a side note, my knuckle around my index/middle on 1 hand tends to hurt when i punch the bag for a bit..after maybe 15-20 moderate punches it hurts..and even making a fist and having it rub against the glove bothers it..but strangely doesnt bother me much after a little while when i get really warmed up and i can hit the bag with no problems.. it is tender the next day though. i read around here and figured it is prob a bone bruise that beginners sometimes get.. i dunno... something tells me its more, considering i had it from day1 to last time i hit the bag. part of the reason i didnt want to train more than 1-2 times per week max..

anyway, any advice would be appreciated..
Working...
