  • equipment question...

ok. most of you know my situation... but for those who dont...

im 19 , turn 20 at the end of may....
been training (if thats what u wanna call it) myself from home, working heavybag, and double ended bags for the past year. ive worked up some good stamina, and quick hands... but i still have loads to learn and my next step which is going to be taken within the next month is going to a gym and meeting trainers and all that..

im right now saving up for college and dont really got a lot of money for myself , so paying for the gym membership alone is going to set skewl back, so i have a very important question about equipment ill need..

out of the things i list, what are ESSENTIAL for training in a gym, doing everything (including sparring). but not actually fighting amatuers yet, all the things i need for amatuers i can buy when the time comes...

first i will list my current equipment.

    -heavybag, double ended bag
-14 oz red everlast hook n loop training gloves
    -everlast handwraps
    -everlast everguard. double mouthpiece.

now heres the equipment ive been looking at, what do i need ASAP:

-10 oz pro/amatuer everlast gloves ? (do i need 10 oz gloves if im not fighting yet ?)

-headgear... official amatuer competition headgear? (what kind should i get, can i use competition headgear in sparring ? or should i buy a different one for sparring ?)

-everlast pro style protector ?? (theres soo many to choose from, which protectors are the best and made for pro's / amatuers ? )

-everlast/addidas boxing shoes ?? (which brand of boxing shoes is the best?)

-trainer tape / gauze ?? (do i really need this **** ? lol)

-bag gloves ? (they come in 10 or 12 oz, made for heavybags, whats the point of these ?? wouldnt 14 oz or 12 oz training gloves be the same ****)

-ANYTHING ELSE ?? (if im missing anything let me know plzzzzzzzz)

      10 oz amatuer glovesDONT NEED
headgear what ever you like you dont have to have fight approved ones and its better to get a good padded one insted because the fight approved ones are goona have less padding.

no foul protector get what ever one you want! its also good to get the ones that cover the kidney area good preventing you from peeing your soul out lol

shoes its always nice to have a pair of boxing shoes but its not a must to have some

gauze you dont need it that stuff is for fights and your not there yet well from what you said id imagine your not goona get in there and have a fight after a week or two lol you need handwraps not gauze and get the mexican style handwraps there great

bag gloves you dont have to have em you can just have a pair or two of gloves with you but for sparring they might have rules on what type of gloves and what size they need you to have so dont sweat it man

Dont get everlast training gloves. Make sure you get the Pro training gloves. You also shouldnt get a doublemouthpeice.

All you need is handwraps and your own mouthguard.
