In my opinon, the most important factors are talent, quality of training and luck.

There are thousands of people who train everyday, eat the right things and are motivated to box, but very few make it.

Alot of their energy is going in the wrong direction, instead of focusing on exactly how to get better and reach the pinnacle, they are going through the motions or kidding themselves.

Quite a lot of boxers have their fathers as their trainers. This is probably the biggest thing possible, to have someone who you live with when young who is training you all the time in all aspects.

Also, i think there are a lot of **** clubs out there run by people who dont have a clue about boxing or how to train boxers. If you find a good one, its worth its weight in gold.

What it takes to be a professional...not much really. Just about anyone can turn pro, doesn't really mean much.

What does it take to be a GOOD pro?

Hard work, dedication, connections(not always), luck, talent...pretty much the same things you need to make it big in just about anything.

yah anyone can become a pro...

but to be truly called a professional boxer, you need three things in my opinion, good defense, good offense, and most importantly BIG BALLS lol
