If your boxing you don't wanna use weights(over 5 pounds) at all unless your moving up in weight because weights just make your flex factor go down...

and you need that for full length punches.

I wasn't gonna respond to you but i decided too anyway.

I never lifted weights... You can see how built I am...so to the initial remark you dont need weights to get big or ripped...though it will take longer my way will last longer. FACT

                back to the idiot

LIFTING heavy builds slow(though Strong) fibers you dumb ass... you dont know that? what boxer wants to be slow?

And yes lifting heavy does decrease your flexability you jackass... you haven't learned that Yet?

Your actually not dumb.. just un-informed.. but now that you are act accordingly.

Lifting Slow builds slow muscles. And with proper stretching, you shouldn't lose flexibilty. Where PunchDrunk when you need him... although I'm sure he's sick of answering this question by now. How about chin-ups? There's a lot of weight on those, do you do them?

Then, if you don't do weights, that's cool, a lot of boxers don't, but a lot do (especially nowadays). No one can call RJ slow... Personally I use weights, but not much, every now and then I do like quick lifting exercises to work on power. I shadowbox with 2lb weights a lot though.

lifting heavy is what builds powerful explosive muscles.

Low weight high rep is for size as it induces hypertrophy we've covered this like 47543669654365493650430 times now.
