    I know all soda is not really healthy but I once heard a rumor that diet soda is actually more fattening than regular soda even though it has no cals...something about false sugars.

    Is this true or false.

    Also diet has aspartime??? that is supposed to be bad. Can anybody elaborate on what that is?

    aspartame can be bad for some, as it contains a phenyl group. If you don't already know what that is, don't bother. Basically, some people are allergic to that. HIGH amounts of aspartame can be carcinogenic (just like high amounts of basically everything else). A diet coke a day won't really harm you for example, despite the fact it may make you feel bloated.

    No, they don't make you fatter. There are few things in a typical diet soda that the body can break down for energy. In fact, the calorie count for most is around a single calorie.
