    Fitness standards for amatuers?

Ive got my first am boxing fight coming up in 6 weeks, 3x 2mins - fighters: how do you you're ready fitness-wise? trainers: how fit do your guys have to be? Im aiming to be able to go 6x 3mins w/ 30secs rest easily, so its double the rounds with an extra minute per round & half the break...

That sounds good but who are you sparring with?

If your sparring with someone that has less talent than you try to throw a large number of punches. Landing but take a lil off so they can last the rounds with you.

More talent than you? Try to pick your punches better and land a better percentage but stay busy still.

I spar with a 3 time florida state champ that is 150.... He throws lots of punches and has ridioclous stamina and endurance... but lacks in power.

I also spar with 178 pound champ that is 6'4... He doesn't throw nearly as much but has a ridicolous jab and can crack a boulder wit his punch.

I train with both to get use to both of their best qualities..... I'm 165.

I can go about 8-10 rounds b4 i start gettin a lil tired with the middle weight because of the output and his consistency.I can go a lil longer with the light heavyweight because he is less active but more dangerous.

Cheers. Im 150 too, training with a variety of dudes - an unfit but well experienced 6ft 145lber, an experienced 170lber & a champion teen, only weighs about 135 though, lol. Work rate, work rate, work rate...

        Are you serious? 145lbs...6 foot?

Anyway.. that all sounds good... hopefully the light heavy/super middleweight dude hits hard and gives you a lil danger.
