  • shadowboxing w/ weights

just wondering if any of you have ever tried shadowboxing with some hand weights or lil 2 or 5 lb weights/dumbells...i've tried it before and when i put my gloves on to hit the heavy bag my gloves felt extra light...is this a good or bad thing to do by shadow boxing with small lb weights?

Don't make it the only thing you do in shadow boxing, but a couple of rounds a week I find is a good idea. Try not to let in worsen your technique though.

As a warm up I do six two minute rounds of shadow boxing. Two of those rounds I do with five pound weights, and two with the long rubber band thing.

yea, they really help strengthen your shoulders and arms. I used to use them (only 1kg weights mind)

I remember when I was doing three pound weights and my arms were dead, now they feel like nothing.

The band is the best thing though, especially if you get a really strong one because it pulls your arms back into the correct defensive posture.
