like everyone else said, very nice handspeed for a guy your size. If you get serious and drop about 30 lbs you could do some damage. You do need to drop weight though, because if you are unable to be quick and light on your feet then your handspeed will be wasted because guys will just move their feet and they'll be able to stay away from trouble. Nothing a little (actually a lot) of roadwork can't fix. Your very good!! Just drop about 30 lbs of that weight!!

Yeah, Im 100% self taught. I do everything by myself and thats why I havent had any sparring or amatuer fights yet. My dad trained me when I was little but he has no experience in boxing and he basically just held the pads for me at home, all he showed me was how to do a jab right hand left hook combo. I worked with a trainer years ago for about 2 months (but only like 5 sessions) but all he did was hold the pads for me for like two rounds each time. Niether ever really showed me anything. I have been a fan of boxing forever and from watching it so much I see what works and stuff.

I have handspeed cause I have been shadowboxin with weights for years and I kinda emulate Sugar SHane Mosleys style when I fight (street). I havent had sparring so I had ALOT of street fights and slapboxing and used them to work on different techniques. I have power cause I watched how Tyson moves and throws punches and I emulate that. I have head movements and leans becuase I watch fellow short heavyweight James Toney rollin out of the way off ounches and I emulate that. I taught myself how to jump rope. I figured out how to snap a punch on my own. I just recently figured out how to do the speed bag by myself and Im still perfecting cause I still dont have it down all the way. I have been going to gym off and on, practicing in my room shadow boxin and hittin bags in my bag yard (I put a body protector around a tree and set up a cobra bag) since I was like 12.

THANKS man, Yeah I know I need to lose some. I used to be 300 pounds and finally decided to get serious about boxing and had dropped to 235 when I found out the gym I was planning to train at was closing down. So I stopped dieting and wasnt working out and went all the way back up to 290. In January I found a gym and decided to try to drop weight and get serious again and Ive gone from 290 to 265 which is where Im at right now. I plan on droppin to 200 and start competing. Then if I can some how pull of a miracle and get to like 180 so I can cut to 175 cause Im only 5'9" but that is going to hard.

Actually compared to some of the other gyms I have been too, this one kinda sucks.

As far as the trainer goes, I dont want to sound egotistical or anything but I think I pretty much got the basics down and that is what the trainers at this gym teach it seems. They charge extra ($75 for Merquis Sosa, $150 for Kelcie Banks, about $150 for others.) to work with them and literally all I see them doin is holdin the pads for people, I come by myself and work harder than any of them. While Im there usually a trainer will have done a whole workout with someone and then do a whole workout with somebody else. and most the the people they train suck. For instance I see some of the guys workin with a trainer and they just look ridiculous and the trainer is sittin there not tellin them ****.

The people workin with the trainer usually shadow box a few rounds, hit the pads, weird jumping jacks, then speed bag, situps and they leave.

I normally do 2-3 rounds jumping rope, 2-3 rounds speed bag, 2-3 shadow boxing and moving around the ring, 2-3 double end bag, 3 rounds heavy bag, 2-3 rounds on the uppercut bag, 2 more rounds on the heavybag. Then sometimes I go and do some more rounds on the double end bag, heavybag, and then speed bag. I am usually at the gym for 2 hours.

As far as Diego training me that aint gonna happen. He is a nice guy though. I have been real humble and ****, I remember the first day he was there I went to hit the heavybags and I saw he was puttin gloves on so I asked if he was gonna use the heavybags and he started laughin and said "Naw, go ahead man." I said "Im not trying to get in your way." and he said "Ima use all four of them now, how about that." and started laughin.

My birthday is on monday and my gift is a year membership payed to a boxng gym. Vegas Boxing is the one I was gonna start going to.. Not as nice as that one. You pay I think 300 to 400 bucks for the whole year and you can use all the equipment and go to however many lessons you want. If you want to train one on one its 40 bucks an hour.

Las Vegas Boxing Gym, its on Charleston and Commerce literally right around the corner from Johny Taccos gym. They charge $30 a month if youre an amateur, $25 if you're a pro, and $50 if you dont compete and just wanna use the bags. If you want to work with a trainer they each charge their own price. Theres like 8 different trainers that go there. Two that I know are Merqui Sosa and Kelcie Banks, they are both former fighters.

Im normally there Wed, Thurs, Fri, in the afternoon and Tues at night. It gets kinda crowded at night. Sometimes theres no room to jump rope.

well like I said, per month its $30 amatuer, $25 pro, $50 to work out.

I know Kelcie Banks charges something like $150-175 a month for him to train you. I think Sosa charges $75 a month, Some mexican guy charges $100-150 a month, the owner looks ******ed and I dont talk to him though but he trains kids.
