when i go inside on a guy while hes on the ropes,is it ok for me to put abit of strength into keeping him on the ropes,like leaning on him and pushing abit with my shoulders while i go to the body? or is that illegal,cause its abit like im holding him?

When you're trying to muscle a guy to the ropes, definitely use force, but don't get off balance in the process. What I like to do is to drive them back with the jabs, twos and threes to get them moving back. Once you get them there, just dig your head into their chest, behind your guard of course, and get to work right there. -

Yeah, and also pivot to the left and the right to get angles on a guy who has a tight defense on the ropes. Sometimes a guy's guard is so good that you can't do much right in front of him, so look for angles. And remember, the body is the best opening for the ropes.

use a good stiff jab one that knocks their head back! as he tries to escape to your right throw an exagerated low wide right hook don't put everything into this blow its just to try and stop him circling outComment
