Still it is more of a short cross(crosses dont always go forward, they go to the side to and look like hooks, but the bodymechanics are essentially of crosses)
Yeah, I know what you talking about, cause I bean taught most likely the same way, I presume you are a mid distance pressure fighter?

Yeah, well its more of a cross, since its short and the arm does not extend nor there is a rounding movement of a shoulder. I can literally visualise the way you throw that punch. IT was one of my money counter punches. I could throw it anywhere and do damage. Even shoulders.

You see, right hook is a long punch, thats why it is unappropriate. The only fighter I seen throw it more or less properly was Mosley.

you want to land a hook off of a jab? First get the jab working, touch him with it a few times and get him looking for it. When you start landing jabs the right/defensive gaurd hand will be drawn from your opponents face to catch it.

Just touch him with the jab, rotate the fist maybe 1/3 of the way back and let the hook rip. Trying the hook from the jab is good but set it up, set it all up and you will roll right through...................Rockin'

Wlad does it beautifully. He really just"touches" an opponent with a jab then pulls it 1/3 way back and rips it with a hook. Just a beauty.

I havent seen Wlad fight yet but alot of those Europeans do it well. They like the mid range fight and generally use alot of jabs.
