I took it pretty well but thats cause I knew what to expect. I knew there will be a world of pain and that I will learn to love it.

The first blow I took in a combat situation was a heavy roundkick to the sternum from a 265 lb biker looking guy in a kickboxing gym. I weighed about 140 lbs. at the time, 14 years old. Took the wind out of me. I literally couldn't breath for about 20 seconds but it felt like much longer. Didn't go down but it ******. If it were a real fight, and not sparring, I would have been KO'ed by the followup for sure.
First time I took a punch to the head in a boxing ring was to a smaller opponent. I thought "holy ****, I must have a glass chin, that ****ing felt so weird". There was a sudden surge of adrenaline but I held my ground and it subsided.
Truth is, getting hit, by anyone who knows how to punch, right on the chin sucks. If you're new, and have no headmovement, you'll know what it really is to get hit flush, something that rarely happens to the pros. People seem to think pros are just supernatural in the punishment they can take but the difference between the average boxer and a normal guy in that regard often times is his ring awareness. The good fighter sees the punches coming, even if its at the last second. Starting out, that probably won't even be the case. You're standing there ready to throw and punch and it's like there's a sudden flash and then you realize it's because you've been hit. More like an electrical shock than a pain. It still sucks.
Don't worry about it too much though or you might psyche yourself out. Just give it a try.

I got a flush uppercut right on my chin. I had this sudden flash in my eyes shook it off and kept going.
No pain till the day after.
I gotta say I got hit quite a bit, once I was standing with no guard thinking the round is over, I turn around and the guy blasts me so hard that my ear drum popped. (to this day I have ringing in my ear, its getting better though).
Each time it took a few seconds to get my full sight back, but I never felt like going down.
Dunno if its my big head or my big legs.

The first time I got hit in a boxing match was kinda like dejavu...From the past street fights and jumpings I had etc, it all came back to me what it was like to get punched. I think subconsciously your mind never forgets what its like to be hit in the head/face. It was all too familiar of a feeling.
The first time I ever sparred was against a 260lb, real heavy handed dude. I went ballistic on him in the first round and hit him with every possibly power punch I had. After that I was so god damn exhausted I couldnt do **** for the next two rounds. When all was said and done, I swear to god it felt like I had a brain hemmorrage. Iwas nauseous, dizzy and my heart felt like it was pumping through my head. I left that gym feeling like I got run over by a truck and was almost totally incapacitated for a few days. **** was rough.
