sparring with 12oz beat up bag gloves is outragious, dangerous, and ******. I would hurt people bad with those things on

actually that seems to be the norm.
guy at my gym was braggin about usually wearin 18s.
well i checked all the top contender gloves (the style he was claimin was 18), even when i've seen him wearin a pair- every pair in that gym was 16 and they are all WELL WORN.
Probably same gloves he beats on the bags with. I'd guess same gloves other people use as well.

my last gym in baltimore everyone did the same thing, except the gloves were balazs gloves that didn't even look made for anything other than cardio work & didn't look anything like their advertised 16 ounce weight.

i don't see why these boxing gyms want people killin themselves before they ever see any fight time. i don't get it.

At my gym we wear 16's to spar; Heavies wear 18's. Some Light Heavies use the 18's just for the extra workout.

I used the Gel gloves today for the first time along with the 18oz Title training gloves and Im REAL happy with them. I might even say that they are the best gloves I have ever gotten.

The gels feel big, they move good, not really slow or bulky. The padding is good, I was ****in the bag and I could barely feel anything on my knuckles. VERY comfortable gloves.

The Title gloves are good for 18's. They dont feel heavy at all, my knuckles were kinda feeling it though when I was goin on the bag though.

I never understand guys who say they are from a tough gym in a poor area because guys wear Reyes. First of all no decent gym would allow Reyes to be used in sparring, pros rarely even use Reyes and you're wearing headgear so it's a pointless glove to use. Second of all Reyes are pretty expensive and should only be used for competition in the pros. You'd break your damn hands training with them.

I don't like them. They are very heavy, unbalanced and the construction isn't as good as you think once you really use them.

I had a pair a few years back and they literally lasted me a few months and ripped.

They are bag gloves, not meant to be used to spar. That's why the padding is different.

I really like the Ringside IMF gloves. They are the best **** for the buck.

I wish we had more gear review threads. I know we have the master thread but it's pretty much dead, most posts never even get glanced at.

I've used the title gel bag gloves for four months and they're great and haven't worn very much at all. Just the colors rubbing off on each other. I wouldn't use them for sparring since you shouldn't use bag gloves for sparring. I use Title platinum ultimate sparring gloves that are 18oz and have accidentally rocked sparring partners with jabs, you don't need tiny gloves if you have power.
