No one should be sparring after 1 month, I sparred after 1.5 and got owned completely. Well, I did beat the 14 year old they put in after I got the concussion for 3 rounds(after being beaten to a pulp before-didnt go down though ). This is because most of my time in the gym was spent getting in shape without building muscle memory and really properly training.

I am sorry this has happened to you. Sad tales like this are so very common and get far too little recognition. Irresponsible trainers come in all sizes, shapes and descriptions, many of them have what appears to be good qualifications. Arturo Gatti is obviously shot yet Buddy McGirt encourages him to fight on. McGirt is as qualified as anybody in the game, yet he more than willing to exploit Gatti's foolishness for a 10% cut off the top.

It is about time that legislation is passed to protect young fighters from irresponsible trainers. Somebody should be criminally responsible for what has happened to you, and you should be able to file a lawsuit.

i sparred in what was i think my third week against a guy whod been going for 3 months but it was his first time sparring too. Because id been shadowboxing for a long time he couldnt deal with my hand speed, id land some combinations, slip a punch or two and get the hell out of there. This happend over and over till he had a black eye a swollen nose. It was quite the beating they let go on.
