I was at the gym the other day, normally when I am finishing about 25 people show up cause they have a class of mostly kids from it looks around 12 to 19 that starts. I was sitting there unwrapping my hands and rolling up the wraps, and this chubby little 12 year old looking little kid walks by wearing the all black Roy Jones shoes. Now, I wear some white RIngside shoes that I bought for $14.95 because they are supposed to be gym shoes meaning I can get them dirty and wore out and its no problem cause thats what they're for. I plan on fighting pro one day and for a fight I would get those Jordans, I dream of the day I can be wearing those ****in shoes in the ring. This is liitle idiot is walking around in $120 shoes for the gym and he isnt even good, he didnt really do anything that I saw, eventually he started working but he was just going through the motions and playing games. I dont understand why he would need the absolute top of the line boxing shoe, when IM sure he doesnt even compete and doesnt seem to take this serious.

Yesterday, once again Im sittin their unwrapping and I see this guy about my age (19) hitting one of the heavybags with some white Winning gloves. Now I see the Roy Jones shoes and Grant gloves and I really want them. But I realize that I dont really need tham at this point, I am still just getting back in the swing off things and havent competed yet. If I ever become succesful as a pro then I can see actually getting the high end stuff, but why in the world does a goofy 19 year old that seemed akward hittin the bag and obviously isnt a succesful pro need $150 top of the line gloves that Mayweather uses???

I understand that they can buy and use whatever they want but come on now.

I see this at soccer, too. Little kids in $200 boots when they're playing in a non-competitive league. I wonder why they bothered wasting so much money. But that's the thing, it's their money. Let them spend it how they please. It just makes me laugh.

This happens in every sport/past time/hobby. When I was into paintball, I would see 12 year old kids with $800 guns, yet didn't know how to use them. Or when I ****ed around as a DJ, people with top of the line decks and mixers that didn't know what the switches and buttons did.

It's a fact of life that some people have more money than brains, and those are the kind of people you saw in your gym.

More to the point how are you gonna ***** about the choices that others make. You understand that nobody is stopping you from going out and buying those Jordans and those Winning gloves, right? Just because your standard is such that people should not be wearing those things, doesnt mean that everyone else should go out and buy some cheapo boots. If people feel comfortable in the stuff they buy then let them be.

In addition to that, the Jordans suck, so why do you even want them yourself? You shouldnt be bitching about these people, you should be pitying them for buying the most overrated, perhaps overpriced boots out. Be unique and get boots that you like, not boots that all the wannabes and Roy Jones wear. Its amazing how caught people get in the hype machine. I have heard the worst reports about those boots and yet people still buy them. This is where i'm different to you however, I pity those people, you ***** about them.

There are many reasons people buy top of the range stuff and for the money it can sometimes be the case that they last the longest. Those Winning gloves that guy bought, even if he does look not all that good on a bag, will last him longer than if he went out and bought some cheap pair of Everlasts from somewhere that doesnt even sell sports stuff.

ha how do you think i feel man? im broke as a joke...my trainer bought my first handwraps for me, which i still use (theyre ****in grimy), the only pair of gloves i have is a pair of everlast fourteen ounce velcro-straps which i got as a bday present like 2 and a half years ago, and i dont even HAVE boxing shoes...i wear a pair of nike cortez tennis shoes.

Like exige said, everyone has different standards. Maybe those gloves those shoes gives those people motivation for going and training. Can they train with cheaper stuff? Of course. But maybe thats what they need to keep them training.

Yeah it's always going to be like that it was exactly like that in soccer. Copa Mundial's & Puma King were top of the line stuff but no one would buy them because they weren't as flashy as some other ones. It irks me when you see little ****s who suck anyway with a really nice pair of boots but it's life.

**** you, you sound all defensive and ****. I bet you have a matching grant cup, headgear, and sparring gloves set. You wear reyes handwraps to go lift weights.

I like the way theose Jordans look, and I have always wished that they would make tennis shoes with a high top for boxing and guess what those Jordans are.


They dont have to necessarily get cheap stuff either. Currently I use

fightgear mexican style headgear
international training gloves
IMF training gloves
panamanian boxing shoes
2 pairs cheap ringside shoes
title cup
title and ultimate classic wraps.

not really cheap, but not the highend **** either.
