  • what's my right weight class?

I am a girl in 30's and I need to determine my weight class. With 2X a week exercise and donuts, pizza and drinks I weight between 128~ 132 lbs. Then about 6 months ago I decided to compete (amatuer), and started 5 x a week hard training. I dropped to 122 lbs without much diet. Last month I entered 119 lbs class, and my weight was 115.5 lbs. ( I think the scale was off, but other girls said no) After the fight I was around 117, and now I weigh 119 lbs.
I am watching what I am eating, so to go down, I need a little bit more effort, but I think it's possible. Since I am a totally uneducated beginner boxer, I need advice.I prefer 114 lbs competitors
I hear losing 5% of the normal weight is a good way to go, but I can't determine what my normal weight is anymore.
They say if you lose weight you lose strength. Does this mean you feel weak or you don't have a power in the punch when you are lighter?
In other words, if I can make 114 lbs and not feel weak, then is this O.K. weight for me? Please advice!

if u can be 114 HEALTHY, then u wont lose alot of power and wont be weak since u did it healthy and u would gain more speed.but losing 10lbs or so isnt really alot. i lose about 20lbs.ahaha now thats alot. if i were u i would drop the weight first to see how u feel in practice(same way u would if u were about to compete soon) also spar to get the feel on the weight. sorta like a test

        Thanks for your advice.

I feel the strongest when I weigh 132 lbs with a lot donuts in my stomach!
Since I naturally lost weight as I got better it is hard to compare. I feel stronger now simply because I got better. I am still learning, so by the time I reach 114 lbs I will feel stronger simply because I get better. When you reach beyond the point you will naturally know? Sorry I sound ******!

in that case, I would suggest losing weight in small increments over periods of time, and gauge how you feel. what is your height ?

I was just trying to be a comedian with my poor attempt at humor earlier, sorry.
