I have gotten grossly out of shape and have been running a mile a day 5 days a week for the past 3 weeks and it is doing **** for me. I don't believe I am burning enough calories. So I am asking in general how many calories do any of you burn on average working out per day?

I work out 2 hours a day, and always get off a stop or 2 early in the way to work from work, uni and or anywhere I go.
Dunno how much but clearly enough. I eat a whole lot.

If you're just getting back into shape and want to burn fat, you're better off walking for an hour every morning on an empty stomach than you are running for one mile. You need low-intensity cardio for prolonged periods -- over 40 minutes, optimally -- to burn fat.
Harder cardio will condition your heart and lungs but from the sounds of it, you're not ready for that, yet.
Boxing for 90 minutes burns about a thousand calories. Plus my morning run, plus a physical job, plus my "normal" calorie burn at 175 lbs?
2,200 normal
600 work
200 morning run
1,000 boxing
4,000 calories per day. I take in about 2,500-3,000 calories per day on boxing days (3 squares + an extra protein shake after boxing) , 1,500-2,000 per day on non-boxing days. I try to lose about 1 lb. per week -- always dieting down, it seems.
