Just like he said, variety is the way to do it. You know what's a fun way of variety and is never the same? 52-Card push-ups. Get a deck of cards and turn it so you see the back cover. Flip over a card and do that many push-ups (face cards are 10 and ace is 11), then only give yourself x seconds of rest, where x is the number of push-ups you just did, for example if you just turned over a 7, did 7 push-ups, give yourself a 7 second rest and turn over the next card and immediately start on the next card. I think it's more fun than doing any other work-out, because you never know what you're going to get next.
