  • is it weird when u get pissed when..........

u get hit more then 5 times a round. i tend to feel like i did bad and need to improve.i think ive been hit(the most)20times a round including jabs in catskills and it just made me work on my countering and defense even more, and i tend to think about it alot and other times when i get hit more then 5 times a round(which isnt alot)its weird its like i strive for perfection,I care about my defense more then offense also.I mean is it a good thing to get pissed and work on it even more? or weird? and by shots i mean sorta clean to clean shots no glancing shots. And of course like every1 i hate being hit.

It may be even weirder that I DON'T get pissed when someone is taking me to school. I get frustrated with myself, but I'm never angry with them.

Well, when I boxed consistently, my mind was like water, I almost never was getting pissed at anything.
In relation to your question, it all depends on wether I achieved my goal for the round.
When I competed I had a separate plan and goal for every round(its easy when you got only three of them) and if I achieved what I wanted in the round, although got tagged, I would feel satisfied. When I was getting brought to school(and that happened plenty of times) I would almost never get frustrated, jsut try to note and analyze as much as possible in a go to possibly reverse the situation.
This way of thinking was one of the first things my first trainer(the russian guy) taught me, he always said that the right way of thinking and taking the fight is half of the victory. Hope that helped, as for you Verse, you are jsut very self critical and a bit too much of a perfectionist, it is good in boxing, since sky is the limit, but dont go too far with it.

yeah maybe i shouldnt take it to far. ive been schooled once.and i was in boxing for like 6 months and really didnt know the tyson style and he was a national amatuer champion but i still hurt him.but for me its just i dont get alot of sparring so when i do i wanna make it as good as possible and work on as much as i can.

I might do i street fighting series on here(with gloves) i did that at work yesterday in the parking lot.but it sucks in the parking lot cause they can run ne where cause theres no ring.but i hit him with a bodyshot and he said his ribs hurt so he quit.ahaha.so u guys can probably expect a video series on here since i cant get real sparring

Street fighting wont teach you much boxing but can you get in real trouble with the law. Just find as much real sparring partners and dont try to hurt them in a sparring. Just set a learning goal (ex. work on defense or finding range) and follow it. I mean, c'mon, you gotta know this stuff.
