This is my 6th amatuer fight that took place in July of this year. I rematched the same guy in my 7th fight which I have a video up of already on this forum.

The guy in the blue is wasting too much energy with foot movement. It's not effective foot movement and since he's bringing his feet close together, he's going to wear his legs out cuz he's straightening and then contracting them too much. But I think you're the red guy and you have solid technique, particularly when you work behind the jab. You're letting your man get off first with the crazy punches and then trying to counter when he's finished. If you worked behind your jab more often, you'd be much better off. He cannot throw straight punches so you'd have the advantage. Also, your left hook is too wide so you're compromising your power a bit but it's the amateurs so it's a little different.

My bad, I forgot to say which one I am. I'm the guy in the red and black.
So basically you think I just need to let the hands go more, with more jabs and more of everything in general.

I like what I saw.
I like the hands up. the cool, calm, collective look. More straight punches. otherwise look real damn good.

One thing I think you'd benefit from is using the uppercut on the inside, get inside some of these kids' shots and just wack him with the uppercut when he leans his head inside. I think you have excellent skills, and this guy should've been a breeze. But I commend your composure cuz you never lost your cool even for your 6th fight and were able to pick his shots off with your gloves and follow up accordingly. Karma for that

You stand tall, but you do it right. What I'd like to have seen more definitely was the jab, cuz you let him get inside where he can let his hands go, even though I can see that you want to let him do so so you can open up with a counter when he's finished. Even still, with the amateurs all ****ed up, you run the risk of getting robbed if you don't establish your distance.

Mainly I try to emulate the Winkster because it's a solid style that isn't too hard to copy IF you can stay calm and focused. But I believe in being versatile so I would like to fight from the outside better. I don't try it that much though even in sparring. I like to stand in there IF I can, and make them get discouraged due to me just being there in front of them very cool/composed. My trainer said the same thing about this guy; should have been a breeze. I'm trying to get in much better shape because apparently I should be KOing this type of fighter. I agree big time about the uppercuts...it's just risky to throw them sometimes. He was prime for some good uppercuts. I think I got a few on him in the rematch we had. I'll probably end up fighting him again later on.
