  • Looking for a Heavy Bag Stand....Help

    Hey guys.

I was wondering what's a good place to get a speed bag/heavy bag stand.

These are combo metal stands, one side holds the heavy bag, other side you can attach a speed bag. This is for my home setup so I can train in the apartment.

(It's gonna be loud, hope these fools who live around here are ready...)

I located one at ****s sporting goods. And it was on sales for 99 bucks, I thought it was a pretty good deal. Came with an century bag (which are pretty durable I've used one before) gloves...

But the guys said they were out, I was like, give me the display model. But he said they couldn't do that.

Any ideas guys? (I just have a car to transport in, they usually come in pieces but the "backbone" is a really big solid piece, I don't think it comes apart. May be difficult to fit in the car.

I been biking lately guys. It's goin great...much easier on my knee than pounding the pavement. My knee actually felt stronger after words. Went 15 miles the first time. Was good for stamina too, I worked up some real heavy sweating.

Training is goin better lately. I took a break for 2 months (and was ignoring my eating). I put myself back on calorie restriction. Makin some progress. I've been self training for a while now. But, when I feel up to it I got the name of a trainer in my town and I'm goin.

Hopefully I'll get there. If not, at least I'll be in good shape and good health.

Well guys. I got my stand, I had to do some jerry rigging to it cause they had the chains set so the bag was way to low. I was punching head height and my punches were over the bag.

It's cool though. Has a speed bag side and heavy bag side. Only real problem is the base moves when I punch it, so I keep it in a corner with some pillows to keep it from moving much.

It's a good work out though, and I can keep it in my place and workout whenever I want. Got some good gloves, wraps, etc. Still feels like I'm hurting my wrists sometimes, but I haven't noticed any additional pain after words.

When I first started hitting a heavy bag last year I fricked my wrists up twice so bad it felt like I couldn't lift anything. But I did Bench pressing last night and I was fine.

I got the number of a trainer in town, he told my no experience needed, but I want to get in better shape before I stroll on over. I'm cycling for stamina, running on grass on a trail in my workplace park, lifting weights, crunches, punching the bag.

All going good. I figure I'm gonna try to go everyday and alternate routines. For instance stamina one day then more lifting on other days. I figure in 2 months I'll be in really good shape. I'm already in nice shape, I keep a good diet, I just haven't been working out.

I'll let everyone know how it's going.
